Bonita Applebum

Project: I often create while listening to music. I grew up in the 90’s when bright colors and African prints ruled aesthetics. This multifunctional art + design piece was inspired by rap group A Tribe Called Quest’s song Bonita Applebum.

Material: Wall vinyl decal

Eye Soul

Project: Photolithography isn’t for the faint of heart. It is a respected art form within design communities around the world. This piece is a collaborative idea of a former classmate and myself. Look into our eyes and tell me what do you see?

Material: 16x20, 2 color, hand printed on Rives BFK Archival Printmaking paper

One Day In Brooklyn

Project: As an avid photographer, I find myself enthralled and inspired by the world around me. This piece was born out of the question: Can I screen print a photograph? This 12 piece limited edition is printed on archival Stonehenge paper for the perfect added touch and vibrancy.

Material: Black ink silkscreened on Stonehenge fine art paper

Tribe City Fest

Tribe City Fest

Project: This yearly festival in San Francisco, California combines music, art, community and culture in the historic African American neighborhood, Bayview-Hunterspoint. I was gratefully selected to create a feature mailer that would help promote the festival both digitally and in person. Pictured is a physical copy of the mailer. 11x17 posters with the same design was also created.

Material: 5x7 on glossy paper

Wake Up

Wake Up

Project: This is an ode to Spike Lee, one of my greatest influence. His “pill in the applesauce” approach to filmmaking is what I seek to do as a designer. Aesthetically pleasing graphics combined with Truth is my recipe. Wake Up was inspired by a character in his first feature film, Do The Right Thing.

Material: 12x18 offset print, 2 color on white glossy paper

Warrior In The City

Project: If I could star in my own movie, this is what the movie poster would look like. Really, this is just to flex my Photoshop blending skills. This graphic was composited from 5 different photos, elegantly masked and blended.

Material: Digital Art
